YMCA Tokyo Japanese Language School is a language school located in Tokyo, Japan. The school is operated by the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Tokyo, a non-profit organization that has been active in Japan since the late 19th century.
The language school was founded in 1990 and offers a range of courses, including intensive Japanese language programs for both short-term and long-term students, as well as specialized courses in business Japanese, JLPT preparation, and Japanese culture. The courses focus on all areas – speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as to improve the understanding of Japanese culture.
If you are christian and work as a ministers, missionaries, evangelists or other fath based professions the school offers reduced tuition fees.
The School is temporarily closed due to renovations from March 31st, 2023.

Eligible students: Completion of 12 years of formal school education or equivalent.
Price long-term courses
1 Year: ¥750,000
1 Year, 3 Months: ¥920,000
1 Year, 6 Months: ¥1,090,000
2 Years: ¥1,430,000
At YMCA you can take a 3 month course for beginners, intermediate or advanced learners. If you pay tuition 3 months in advance the registration fee of ¥10,000 will be deducted from the price.
Price short-term courses
3 Months: ¥170,000
Private lessons for one or up to 7 students can be booked at any time.
